Community Education
At Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s Center for Human Motion we know that maintaining an active lifestyle is very important to many Americans.

That's why we offer a variety of community education programs each year related to health, wellness, and motion. We have developed numerous programs to help keep you and your family healthy, active, and educated. We take pride in offering community events for individuals of any age who are interested in maintaining or regaining their active lifestyles.

Joann Berns, Physical Therapist, will lead a
workshop on the appropriate stretching of major muscle groups in preparation for exercise and
activities. The session will have participants
practice appropriate techniques with guidance from Joann.

Have you or someone you know had a stroke?

Do you feel you need or would like some
additional support or information?

Then come and learn about the Stroke
Support Group at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Tammie Foster, Occupational Therapist at Cooley Dickinson
They are facilitators of the Stroke Support Group and will speak about the benefits of joining such a group, deficits after stroke, and what can be done about them through therapy. They will also be available to answers you may have.

Even those with severe arthritis can increase strength and flexibility while seated. Guided imagery uses the power of the mind to decrease pain. Wear comfortable clothes and come prepared to participate!
